Calleri is known for giving first jobs to some of New York and Hollywood's greatest actors including Elisabeth Moss, Adam Driver, Jessica Chastain, Sterling K. Brown, Kieran Culkin, Rosemarie DeWitt, Rainn Wilson and Jeremy Strong to name a few. He was the casting director of New York's famed theatre institution, Playwrights Horizons for a decade where he cast for playwrights Craig Lucas, Christopher Durang, Lynn Nottage, Jon Robin Baitz, Kenneth Lonergan and numerous others. On Broadway he has cast plays and musicals for directors Kenny Leon, Michael Mayer, Anna Shapiro, Moises Kaufman and many others. Along with an illustrious career in theatre, television and film Calleri also heads the Graduate MFA Acting Program at Columbia University School of the Arts where he serves as an Associate Professor of Theater. Calleri is the co-author with Robert Cohen of Acting Professionally: Raw Facts About Careers In Acting, one of the leading books in the country for aspiring actors.
